Ringing in the Easter



Easter goodies on offer at Flurys in Park Hotel.

THE WEATHER may be heating up real fast, but don't despair, there's a treat round the corner. Yes, it is Easter this Sunday and there's plenty of eating besides overdosing on eggs and hot cross buns. Flurys is a legacy of Mrs. and Mr. J. Flury, who first set up the Flurys tearoom in Calcutta in 1927. Its special cakes, breads and chocolates are made from traditional European recipes. Easter sweets are not exclusively reserved for after-meal eating. In fact, they are often eaten almost any time of day! The dessert after dinner rule is often forgone in favour of a more welcoming one: dessert all day long. Whichever rule you would like to adhere to, Flurys at the Park sure has a wide array of goodies to add a little variety to the Easter celebrations.

Choose between Nougat eggs, Peanut Butter Eggs, Coconut Cream Eggs, Real Chocolate Eggs and Fondant Eggs. Narang's whimsically decorated eggs loaded with chocolates are bound to make you happy and Easter is a time to hope for peace and happiness. Perhaps you can check with Narang if he can make you an egg-filled Easter Egg. Visually attractive, the excitement does not stop at the arty exterior. Fillings include Valencia, Hard Nougat, Honeydew, Marzipan sweets and Burnt Almond, all famous Flurys chocolates. You've got it all here - big eggs, small eggs, eggs on their own and eggs with eggs in the middle.

Desserts and sweets are not quite necessities, but they endure as one of those little extra things that sprinkle joy into our lives, specially if you have a sweet tooth!
