Bravo Balayya!

BALAKRISHNA, SON of the legendary N. T. Rama Rao, and a superstar in Telugu films, has a screen image of an upright do-gooder. Last week, Balayya as he is affectionately called, lived up to his larger-than-life image when he received the prestigious "Samman Award", which is given to the highest and most prompt taxpayer. He received it for the financial year 1998-99 for Hyderabad-1 region, from G. R. Reddy, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax. After receiving the award, Balakrishna said he was honoured by this gesture from the IT department, adding that he was a regular taxpayer ever since he was just a child artiste way back in 1972. He wished that his father NTR were alive to see him receive the award.
