Dream sleep

SNUG WEAR: Delicate embroidery mark the line.

AFTER A hard day, what one would eagerly look forward to is a good sleep. Often one misses out on the comfortable night wear because the nightwear segment is not as dynamic as perhaps other clothes.

In this scenario, when designer Mona Ranadive presented her nightwear line in the twin cities at the exhibition held in White House Gallery recently, the response was tremendous. Delicate embroidery, lace edgings, pin tucks and cutwork on the yoke apart from a fine finish, mark her nightwear collection.

BABY DOLL: Spaghetti straps for comfort.

"Having studied the market I found a lacuna when it comes to comfortable yet fashionable nightwear," says Mona, a student of fashion designing from New Delhi. After working with the export house that dealt exclusively in nightwear exports while in New Delhi, she decided to start her exclusive cotton nightwear label that she eventually launched a few years ago. Her current exhibition incorporated suggestions that she received during her previous exhibitions in the twin cities.

A variety of lengths, from light coloured full lengths, three fourth lengths in gingham checks, chic short strappys to the spaghetti top pyjama sets comprised the offering, a range that presented pastels to bright prints in different size options. Pyjama sets with spaghetti tops with detailed embroidery (Rs. 750) in soft summer tones as aqua blue to a relaxing three fourth length (Rs. 499) in lilac with a lace yoke are some of the popular options you can check out apart from the youthful pull string lace piece for the gathered look that can be paired with a matching robe.

BEAUTY SLEEP: Pastel shades for a soothing option.

The exclusive Valentine Collection (Rs. 1,200-Rs. 1,500) presents strappy inners with chiffon robes in the colours of the season— light pink, peach, off white to the more vibrant black and red pieces featuring floral motifs. The overall nightwear line offers a variety to choose from, from the modish spaghettis to relaxing plain silhouettes.

Check out the nightwear line Mona's Dreamwear at A-2, Sagar Enclave, Akbar Road, Bowenpally. You can reach designer Mona Ranadive on 56888870.
