Books become burden

WHEN half a mark can make a world of difference to a student's admission into a professional course or his/her subsequent career options, it is no wonder that education has become totally exam-oriented. Parents and teachers goad the youngsters to do better and better in the exams, with the result it is "all work and no play". The present education system only stresses on the student's capacity to learn by rote, completely disregarding their creativitiy and imagination. Yet, an intelligent child will make a mark, irrespective of his/her qualifications.
