Designer comfort

"THE STYLING is inspired by ancient folk traditions... ", that's the leitmotif of the In Situ range on display at the Amethyst.

The creations of Shalini Subramaniam Majumdar, a product of the National Institute of Design, include formal and semi-formal trouser and salwar suits that come in muted shades of the earth — maroon, rust, green, beige, brown and turquoise.

Each of the classy creations smacks of simplicity and spells comfort. An ensemble comprises a reversible quilted cotton or tussar open sleeve coat with a short sleeveless tunic and trouser/salwar.

As far as colour co-ordination goes, it is done in such a way as to lend a dramatic effect. Check out the turquoise coat with leaf green top or a rust top with leaf green coat. The mustard-pink combination is stunning. Then there is the suit in traditional steel grey-black which has its own appeal. While some coats have small checks, others are striped. The overall appeal is aesthetic, elegant and stylish.

When there's a designer tag attached, the clothes are by no means pocket-friendly. The range: from Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 8,000. Well, if you can afford one, then check out the In Situ range.

Available till stocks last at Amethyst, 14, Sundar Mahal, Jeypore Colony, Gopalapuram.
