Towards a better home with Arcus

CLAIMED TO be the one-stop solution to all home and building requirements, Arcus store is a likely destination if you are looking to set up a dream home. Located at Gurgaon, a stone's throw from Delhi, the store was conceptualised two years ago.

Of late, the Indian market seems to have woken up to the lucrative potential of Vedic and other ancient Indian sciences and ideas, and a number of business ventures are cashing in on the trend. Likewise, Arcus is based on the concept of Vaastu Shastra - the ancient Indian concept of putting things in right places in homes - and its Chinese counterpart Feng Shui. Working on the idea of `buy it yourself' the sales associates are available to guide customers but not to persuade them. The decision is left to them, says the store's President I.S. Narula.

"Arcus store also sells ideas and helps in incorporating those ideas. Technicians, experts and professionally trained designers have been kept at the service of customers. It has products which are affordable to even middle class people," says Narula.

Another attraction is the money-back policy in case of defective merchandise. The proof of the pudding is however, with those who have shopped here, and Arcus has stayed afloat for the past two years. Rather than advertising, the company relies on word-of-mouth publicity and customer loyalty. With plans to inaugurate a branch in Mumbai soon, it seems Arcus is moving in the right direction.
