Asian Television Awards 2002
Watch Diya Mirza with Arjun Rampal in `Deewanapan', on Zee TV
More than 1,200 celebrities from Asia's television and film industries attended the seventh Annual Asian Television Awards gala ceremony held in Singapore. Awards in 29 categories were given away at the ceremony held at the National University of Singapore Cultural Centre.
The show will be aired in 11 countries. About 119 programmes and performances from across 12 countries were nominated this year. The entries were assessed by 49 judges from 11 countries. One reason for us to cheer is that India's Niret Alva has won the best current affairs or Infotainment Programme Presenter prize for BBC World.
Hot Tips:
-- Cricket action continues unabated on ESPN and Star Sports, as India and New Zealand play out the tests and seven one-dayers. The film, `Deewaanapan', is the Thursday movie on Zee and it would be madness to miss it.
-- `Africa: On the Edge' is a gripping series on the National Geographic. On December 17 (Tuesday), watch the `Savanna Homecoming' at 7 p.m.
