The much-needed attention
A long-due programming change has arrived at Zee Cinema with the recent acquisition of 16 new movies to its library. Zee Music, the music channel in the Zee bouquet, is also set to break new ground.
ETC promoter, Yogesh Radhakrishnan, barely three months into his job as head of the two Zee channels, seems determined to pull both the channels out of their lethargy.
As a result of this face-lift, the weekly Bollywood round ups and the endless countdown shows on Zee Cinema will go. The main attraction is `Ek Ka Teen Premiere' -- a bunch of new Hindi movies that will make their satellite premiere on Friday at 1 p.m., with repeat telecasts on Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 9 p.m.
`Bollywood Tonight', a daily news bulletin, anchored by Samar Khan, has been introduced, recently. The bulletin is based on the Hindi film industry. Films such as `Durga', `Yeh Mohabbat Hai', `Dil Ne Phir Yaad Kiya' and `Ansh' will be aired soon. Zee Cinema and Zee Music's will soon have new identities by January.
