Exotic seafood fare

Presenting an exotic haul from fresh water and seas is the exclusive seafood restaurant in town.



AQUA EXPERIENCE: The ambience makes the fare more appetising.

OFFERING TIGER prawns, pomfret, lobsters, squids and other hauls from fresh water and seas, fried grilled and curried across the Indian, Continental and Chinese spreads, Coastline Sea Food Restaurant, a unit of Savera Hotels Ltd, Chennai, is the first exclusive seafood restaurant in the twin cities.

Located on the first floor, (above Lifestyle) My Home Tycoon building, the restaurant is open for lunch (11 a.m to 3 p.m) and dinner ( 7 p.m to 11:30 p.m.) where Chef Krishna from Goa whips up delicacies for connoisseurs, from Goan fish curry, Bengali fish curry, Kerala prawn curry to lobsters made in the South Indian or Chinese style.

Crab rasam, shrimp soup and sea food chowder for the soup, crab pepper prawns, fish koli vada and masala fried fish for starters, crab masala and fish moile for at the Indian main course, crab stew, fish and chips and fish shaslik at the continental spread are some of the offerings to try out here teamed up with fish pulao, tiger prawn biryani and butter naan.

And if you wanted to settle for a simple meal-the Kerala `fish' meen curry with piping hot steamed rice and fried fish make a wholesome meal.

For the adventurous, there are the anchovies that can be chewed with the bones or the spicy squid salad from the cold platter.

Undecided? Go in for the grilled mix seafood platter and tandoori pomfret.

The food is not very spicy and finds effective usage of souring agents such as tomatoes used to cut the strong prawn flavour at the prawns pulao.



DEEP-SEA FARE: Indulge in the regular or the exotic at The Coastline.

To make the fare more appetising is the ambience. With a display cold store, fish nets, anchors, shells and the whiff of sea food here, its the nearest you can get to Goa!

"This is an era of speciality restaurant. We were sceptical when we opened the restaurant in October but we have a whopping response to the fare here," says P. Vincent, in-charge, Coastline Sea Food Restaurant. Check out the place for the nutritious seafood fare and there is the option of ordering in some vegetarian cuisine from neighbouring Malgudi Southern Cuisine Restaurant, for those at the group who would prefer a vegetarian fare.

The 44-cover restaurant is cosy and done up in cheerful hues. A three-course meal for two here can be checked out for Rs.300-Rs.500.
