Gourmets of this city have now a rare opportunity to taste a variety of Continental delicacies and enjoy their flavour and aroma - courtesy Taj Residency, which has launched its European Food Festival at its Harbour View restaurant. The fiesta is on to November 24.
The tempting table spread of this treat, which can be devoured by vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike, includes honey smoked chicken dressed with tomato basil; ravioli with creamy thyme sauce; spiced prawns with sauted vegetables and basil beurre blanc; fish paupiettes stuffed pepper and asparagus; bar-be-que chicken with vermicilli and caramelised pan gravy; spinach timble with sweet and spicy tomato sauce; cottage cheese, walnut and coriander croquettes; cappuchinio brulee; orange bavarois and chocolate fondant.
The five-star hotel's general manager, Mathew C. Thomas, said at the inaugural of the festival on Saturday: ''Our master chefs have been specially trained at Taj Coromandel in Chennai on the nuances of the European cuisine, and they have done a splendid job in bringing out the essence of true European stuff.''
Apart from the Continental dishes, the Euro menu has a bonus in Moroccan fish with coriander sauce plus, of course, native curd rice and desserts. For reservations contact P.S. Venugopal (Tel: 567756).
