Cooking cake

Why are my cakes sticky on the surface?

Santosh Kumari, Sainik Puri

IF THE cake is well cooked and the top is sticky the probability is that your oven's top element is not working. In an oven the heat is generated evenly from all sides. This is how the cake is heated and cooked. So if the cake is not getting cooked from one side it means it is not receiving sufficient heat. Please have your oven checked and I am sure your problem will disappear.
