Bouncing back!
|
If you still admire the optimism, enthusiasm and the spirit behind the lyrics of `It's my life' (from the album `Crush'), then you are most likely to enjoy Bon Jovi's latest album, `Bounce', which is more rocky and loud compared to their previous albums.

BON JOVI, one of those all-time contemporary rock bands, has created a niche for themselves thanks to the optimism and hope in their songs.
It is also one of the very few bands that has changed its style of music with changing trends and times which is precisely why their latest album, Bounce is more rocky and loud compared to their previous albums.
Bon Jovi has four members in all Jon Bon Jovi does the vocals and is the guitarist. Born in New Jersey, in 1962, Frank (Jon) Bon Jovi has had a creditable solo music career with Destination Anywhere being his most popular work.
In fact, he has also acted in a movie with the same name as well as in The Leading Man and Moonlight and Valentino. Richie Sambora, who has a couple of solo albums to his credit as well, plays the guitars for the band; while Dave Bryan plays the keyboards. Tico Torres is the band's drummer.
Way back in 1983, Jon got himself a job of running errands, fetching coffee and sweeping floors in one of New York's biggest recording houses, `The Power Station Recording Studios' with a salary of $50 a week.
Apart from this job, all Jon would do was gaze at the Who's Who of the Rock n' Roll scene of those times but somewhere along the line, he began exploring the empty studios at odd hours of the night, and with help from some junior composers lingering around, he began making small demos, composing a few rough tracks.
Jon also made full-fledged demo albums and got some managers of Record labels to listen to them.
One of the radio station managers was keen to play Jon's song and Runaway hit the airwaves, and went on to break quite a few records. Jon became the only person who, without even having a record label to support him, gave a hit track.
After Runaway, David Bryan and Tico Torres joined the band and soon with one more member joining in, Bon Jovi began to wow rock music enthusiasts the world over.
After a hiatus of a few years, the band released its album, Crush, last year, with It's my life topping the charts in India as well. One Wild Night was a live performance album, which was released next and included some of Bon Jovi's classic hits like You give love a bad name.
Right now, Jon Bon Jovi's latest album called Bounce (Universal Music; Rs. 125) has hit music stores all over India and the track, Everyday is on the music channels too.
If you are surprised with a title like Bounce, Jon Bon Jovi explains: "Bounce could mean the action of a ball, or a kid jumping up and down, or it can address the enthusiasm of the band or even our country (U.S.A) in the face of adversities.
It can mean anything to anything." If that sounds impressive, just listen to the lines of the first single Everyday
I had enough of crying; Bleeding, sweating, dying; Hear me when I'm going to live my life, everyday, I'm going to touch the skies; Spread the wings and fly; I'm going to live my life, everyday.
"Three minutes of optimism," is how Jon Bon Jovi describes the group's style of music and there can be no better definition than that, for sure.
