THE FESTIVAL of lights is here and so is shopping, and so are the myriad offers - lucrative and affordable, expensive and illuminating - worth a glance or a buy. Just to begin with, ITC's Expression has come out with Expression Utsav Cards with the theme of auspicious beginning. Besides Ganesha, the lord of new initiatives and Laxmi, the goddess of wealth, diyas, swastika and rangoli complement the cards. These cards of about 302 designs are priced between Rs. 3 and 80 and are available in Hindi, Gujarati and Marathi languages.
Then there is a festive discount on a new range of items. Take for instance, a range of shirts from Peter England, Everfresh and Dazzlers. The former, available in over 50 designs with purista treatment meaning, they are anti-bacterial that reduces the growth of odour producing bacteria in shirts. The Dazzlers define bright, bold shirts in checks, solids, fill-a-fills and superfine twills along with Satin - a whole new range of trousers.
There is no dearth of offers for ladies - Pitambari Saris, for example, is offering a flat discount of 20 per cent on the entire collection at their outlets in Adhchini and East Patel Nagar, New Delhi. While Anuradha Chhabra, jewellery designer unveils her jewellery and offers special gift items like photo frames in thewa and deity pendants of Laxmi and Ganesha with men's jewellery like buttons in gold and diamonds. Cufflinks and tiepins as also with chokers, rani haars, earrings, bracelets, tikkas, matha patti, nath etc. While the women's range starts from Rs. 1,500, the men's starts at Rs 2,000. While Khanna Jeweller's festive season offer includes a collection created from hallmarked gold and certified diamond for working women, lady of leisure and brides - available in South Extension, Rajouri Garden and Karol Bagh.
For children from four to 16 years also, there are a few collections on offer like three new collections from Gini & Jony's Music for girls, Five and DenimX for boys. A stylised, casual wear for girls inspired by the elements of music, contains the rock look, musical instruments depicted through prints and badges. Priced between Rs. 225 and 825. While for boys there are tussar fabric bottom wear and heavy jersey ranging between Rs 325 and 875. Denim-X is denim-based theme with graphical prints on top wears and flock prints ranging up to Rs. 995. All these are available at Shoppers Stop, Big Jo's, K's Mall and Ebony, etc.
