Crafts from Andhra

WHO CAN resist a wonderful Mangalgiri sari? So elegant and so light to wear!

Equally enticing are the Venkatgiris and Pochampallis of Andhra Pradesh. The State is home to a number of other craft traditions such as the wood carvings of Srikalahasti, brassware from Warangal, Bibbili musical instruments, Dokra tribal paintings, Nirmal lacquerware, and Kondapalli toys.

The best of Andhra crafts is now on display at the Institutition of Engineers.

Brought to Bangalore by the Andhra Pradesh Handicrafts Development Corporation, discounts of 20 per cent and 10 percent are offered on textiles and handicrafts, respectively.

The sale continues till October 9.
