A challenging venture

TO TURN a disability into a productive venture can perhaps be the best example of human achievement. That is what is reflected in the mission the Association of Christian Industries has undertaken.

A sale-cum-exhibition of embroidered articles made by the physically challenged youth of south India is being held at YWCA, West Marredpally from October 3 to 6. The exhibition will showcase the hard work and dexterity in the form of saris, pottery works, readymade garments, tablecloths, bedcovers and rope handicrafts. In garments, the exquisite work of hand embroidery and cross-stitch is displayed. Wall hangings, bags, belts, doormats and a rich variety of traditional south Indian art work will also be on display.

The Association of Christian Industries, under its programme Reaching the Unreached (RTU), helps the underprivileged and marginalised in society to gain a financial foothold for a self-reliant living. The exhibition will on between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.
