Stone splendour

Colourful stone-set fashion jewellery and remarkable reproductions of antique pieces are the highlights of Ambica Pearls' new showroom that is all set to open today in Alsa Mall.

MOST SHOPPERS, going abroad of late, would have noted the bright, colourful stone-set fashion jewellery at leading stores. The same can now be had here, and that too, crafted to suit Indian tastes.

At Ambica Pearls' new store, which is all set to open today alongside the old one in Alsa Mall, one is attracted by bright coloured Swarowski crystals set in pendants that can double as brooches, rings and earrings. The set is completed by a chain with silver or gold oxidised finish, which makes a perfect fashion statement.

In keeping with international trends, there is also a range of precious and semi-precious stone beads strung in single or multiple rows. Tourmalines, topaz, aquamarines and chalcedony — the colour ranges from pale blue to deep purple. These stones artistically set with diamonds make striking pieces.

The showroom has also come up with innovative diamond sets priced Rs. 20,000 upward. There are also necklaces using fewer diamonds, but set in an elaborate way, that make excellent giveaways.

Also available are remarkable reproductions of antique jewellery pieces like the solid gold bangle showing a supine Vishnu on two sides. As an inaugural offer, free gifts and discounts accompany purchases.
