Two sides of the coin

STRONG MAN: Mukesh Khanna

TV SERIALS can bring out different reactions from people. Vivan Bhathena, new MTV VJ, rules out the possibility of serial acting "That is out for me, as I had a bad experience during Yehi to Pyar Hain. Everything was disorganised and I was not even paid properly for it. I am completely averse to serials." On the other hand, for Mukesh Khanna, life became interesting only after Shaktiman. "When I started making Shaktiman, people ridiculed me saying that I would not be able to create a superhero in the scenario that existed then. They said that I was stupid to create a serial for kids in the late night spot. But the same guys were the first to call up and congratulate me when it became a success. I cannot stop Shaktiman now. It has become a movement. They are thinking of starting Shaktiman Clubs. It had also started off a few controversies. I earned a lot of goodwill from Shaktiman," he says.
