It's truly Asia!

LANG KAWI, the evergreen land, Johor Bahru, the F1circuit, bountiful Penang and the capital city, Kuala Lumpur. There is more to Malaysia than just this visual treat. For instance, there is its unique `satay' culture. To local understanding, satays are the barbecued delicacies of the Orient, and offer one a taste of the `quick bite' culture of Malaysia.

Transporting you to a vibrant land is a Malaysian Satay Festival at Chola Sheraton, which is on till today. Drop by to sample some of the mouth-watering recipes of Malaysian Chef Hamid.

"Satay Udang" is a grilled shrimp number, with a flavouring of lemon grass. If seafood is not your choice, ask for "Satay Kambing" which is a lamb skewer served with sweet soya sauce.

"Satay Lambu" is for the hot-tongue that relishes spicy marinaded tender beef with traditional peanut sauce.

There are a variety of vegetables too that are grilled for the non-meat eaters as well — If you are interested then "Satay Sayur" is the name to ask for!

The fest is on at the Durrant's Bar and Café Mercara. For details, call 8110101.
