Kicking off the fashion season
THE WORLD is drunk on soccer these days. So are Delhiites. Offering them something unusual over next couple of weeks is the United Colours of Benetton house which has introduced its Soccer Collection designed in the spirit of the 2002-FIFA World Cup.
Innovative soccer prints marked with footballs, numbers and stars seek to capture the mood of the World Cup and lend an athletic feel to the collection which comes in an array of colours, including red, green, grey, blue, indigo, yellow and black.
The special collection focuses on fabrics that move easy on the body keeping in sync with the Spring-Summer Collection.
Cool summer fabrics have been used for the raglan-sleeved tops and generous use has been made of gold interlocking and innovating printing which, it is claimed, make each style special. Crosshatch denim with stretch has gone into the bottoms, which are trimmed with leather thongs.
Special chambray denim has been used for the tape trousers and knee skimming skirts.
The collection will be available in select UCB stores across Delhi. It is priced Rs 399 upwards.
This collection is in addition to the usual two collections launched by UCB every year - Spring-Summer and Autumn-Winter. Each collection comprises over 700 styles catering to young men and women.
