ALL WHO wish to set the dance floor ablaze could do so with a little help from none other than Shiamak Davar. Prachi, Preeti, Smita and Sheetal of Edge in association with Davar's Institute of Performing Arts are conducting a two-week dance workshop from April 18 at Kagaz Bhavan in Secunderabad, Hyderabad Gymkhana Banjara Hills and for the ITC Ladies Club members at the ITC Kakatiya Sheraton and Towers.
The two-week programme will culminate in a grand finale at Ravindra Bharati where students can showcase their skills on the dance floor.
Davar says, "The main reason for the summer workshop and summer funk shows is to give participants of all age groups an opportunity to perform on stage and experience what we go through -- the excitement, the costume trials, team work, professionalism, discipline and above all performance."
Shiamak Davar.
After 15 years of innovative dancing, Davar has emerged as the uncrowned king of dance both Western and Indian.
The French were so impressed with his choreography in films like Dil to Paagal Hai and Taal that they have chosen his dances for the Lyons festivals. Interested people can contact 3357718 between 11 and 8 pm.
