Play of colour

Under Murukeson's brush, the idiom of the abstract takes on new dimensions. His 22nd one-man show at the Vinyasa Art Gallery concludes on March 26.

CONTROLLED BRUSHWORK and imaginative use of colours, make artist K. C. Murukeson's paintings pleasing to the eye. Indeed, his forte lies in mixing colours so that his paintings take on an identity of their own. Under Murukeson's brush, the idiom of the abstract takes on new dimensions. Each painting stands out for its technical wizardry. The even and exquisite use of colours results in a harmonious balance that is at once striking as also appealing.

Born in 1944 in Madurai, Murukeson joined the Government College of Arts, Chennai in 1963, securing a first class diploma in Fine Arts and Painting in 1968. Under the guidance of Prof. A.P.Santhanaraj, Murukeson matured into a talented artist, gifted with a rare vision and perception.

He has held several one-man shows, exhibitions and group shows. Besides winning several awards for his strokes of brilliance, his paintings find a place in many corporate houses, private collections, art institutions and galleries. They also occupy pride of place in the homes of art connoisseurs abroad too.

Murukeson's 22nd one-man show at the Vinyasa Art Gallery, Music Academy premises, 168, T.T.K. Road, concludes on March 26. The show, which is open to the public from 11 a.m. to 7.00 p.m., features some of the artist's recent works. Contact 8115073 for details.
