Art shows

Two art exhibitions in the city feature the works of "working artists" and young talent.

THERE ARE several art shows happening in the city. To begin with, the Lalit Kala Akademi is presenting "Working Artists' Exhibition-2002". Featured are pieces by the working artists of graphic, ceramic and sculpture workshops and painting studio of the centre. The show is on till March 21, 11.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m., at the Akademi premises, 4, Greams Road. For details, call 8291692.

The Welcomgroup Chola Sheraton and Progressive Painters Association, Cholamandal Artists Village, have also put together an exhibition of paintings by 12 young artists. It will be inaugurated at 6 p.m. today at Srishti Gallery by Kuldeep Bhartee, General Manager, Welcomgroup Chola Sheraton, Cathedral Road. The exhibition will be on till March 17, 10.a.m to 8.00 p.m.
