New Delhi (PTI): Zenith Computers on Thursday launched desktops and laptops priced between Rs 11,990 to Rs 14,990 in collaboration with global software giant Microsoft.

The products have been lunched under the brand name 'EcoStyle' as they are free of any toxic materials, said the company. "The desktop model comes in three variants and are priced at Rs 11,900 including taxes and VAT," said Zenith CMD Raj Saraf.

These products are based on Microsoft operating system and available with Windows Vista and Microsoft XP home edition through its exclusive tie-up with the software major.

"Under the 'Microsoft Unlimited Potential' initiative, our effort is to bring sustained social and economic opportunity to people who currently don't enjoy the benefits of technology," Microsoft India Chairman Ravi Venkatesan said.

The three models are priced same and vary in their processors as they use three different processors such as Intel, AMD and VIA. The company believes that these products will help bridge the digital divide as computers available in Rs 10, 000 range lack quality.

"The earlier sub Rs 10,000 PC program failed in the country because the manufacturers' main objective then was to meet that price tag while they compromised on quality," added Saraf.
