Weekend screenings

Filmmaker R.P. Amudhan’s documentaries will be screened on July 18and 19 at CFD, Sona Towers, Millers Road, Bangalore, 6.30 p.m.

Amudhan is based in Madurai and is the brain behind the Madurai International Film Festival for Shorts and Documentaries. Many documentaries like “Vande Mataram - a shit version”, “Shit”, “Notes from the Crematorium” dealing with the pitiable state of dalits in parts of Tamil Nadu.

Vande Mataram jutaposes the “patriotic” song with visuals of various activities of manual scavenging that still takes place. The filmmaker will be present for the screenings. For details, call 98457 66808.
