Anil Chitrapu
Anil Chitrapu is a promising fourteen-year-old, who is sure to climb up the ladder of Carnatic music soon. His concert in the company of Thyagaraju on violin and Vidyasagar on mridangam was presented under the aegis of Hyderabad Music Circle at Thyagaraya Ganasabha’s mini hall.
He is presently under the tutelage of noted vocalist Seshachari of the Hyderabad Brothers duo.
Anil lives in Philadelphia with his parents and is said to have given many concerts there and visits Hyderabad to continue his learning with Seshachari. One hopes this melody in his voice would be retained, that he displayed throughout his concert.
He has a very fine vocal culture and his sequences were well framed.
Anil began with Natakuranji varnam and followed it with Sabhapatiki and Etulabrothuvo in Chakravakam, and then he rendered Panthuvarali for the popular composition Appa Rama Bhakti and presented with swaram.
He sang Sarasasamadana in Kapinarayani, Niravadhisukha in Ravichandrika, before he took up Sankarabharanam as his main offering. He sang it well and his rendition was well appreciated.
It was followed by Enduku Peddala in Sankarabharanama popular composition.
