On the occasion of its 39th anniversary celebrations and fine arts festival, Nungambakkam Cultural Academy has selected Hyderabad-based Bharatanatyam danseuse Rajeswari Sainath for the prestigious award ‘Nritya Kala Sironmani’ and ‘Gana Kala Sironmani’ to vocalist Nithyasree Mahadevan.
The award will be presented to her on the inaugural day of the Music and Dance festival on December 5 in Chennai.
The award includes a citation, a gold medallion and a purse of Rs 10,000.
