STARGAZING

Cast almost finalised

I t looks like Krishnamraju's long-time dream project Visala Netralu, will finally see light of day. The film was initially shelved since they couldn't find the right actors for the film and then, Krishnamraju got busy with politics. Now, not only will Krishnamraju direct the film, but will also play a pivotal role along with Akkineni Nageshwar Rao. Prabhas is being cast as the hero, while the hunt for the heroine is still on. Apparently, the director is looking for someone with big eyes.

Sri Ramadasu in demand

Nagarjuna's latest film, based on the epic tale of Sri Ramadasu is in high demand. Within hours of its release, the audio was deemed to be doing well and buyers are being given some additional goodies like prasadam, talambralu, pasupu, kumkuma, a photo calendar and a songbook. It is learnt that producer Konda Krishnamraju is planning to dub the film in Hindi, as many North Indians appreciate the works of Lord Rama's devotee, Sri Ramadasu. There are about 19 songs in the movie and three to four of them are poems. Keeravani has provided the music for the album, while K. Raghavendra Rao has directed the film. Once again, it looks like the combination of Keeravani-Nagarjuna-K Raghavendra Rao will be a big hit. The film is most likely to hit screens on February 23, on the eve of Maha Sivarathri.

Jyothi in Siddique's next

Jyothi, who became popular after she played the role of a call girl in S.V. Krishna Reddy's Pellam Voorelithe andhad secretly married Bahrain-based software engineer Darshan Venkatesh, was recently promoted as the heroine of Hangama with Venumadhav and Ali in the lead. Jyothi had gone to the Gulf along with a troupe of Telugu film artistes, to a couple of stage shows. She eventually ended up staying back and tied the knot with the software engineer. Jyothi has acted in more than 30 films and is currently shooting a movie with Nitin under the direction of popular Malayalam director Siddique. The movie is being wrapped up at a fast pace, with almost 30 per cent complete. Some of Siddique's Tamil and Malayalam movies like Hitler, Peddarikam, Khushi Khushigaa, Snehamante and Idera were remade in Telugu and turned out to be big hits. This movie also features Meera Chopra, who entered the industry with Pawan Kalyan's Bangaram.

Jagapati, Kiran team up

Surya Kiran (of Satyam-fame) is all set to direct Jagapatibabu in his forthcoming venture. A remake of a Malayalam hit film, it will be produced by N. Surya Prakasa Rao under the banner of SP Creations. The mahurat of the film is planned for February 12 to mark Jagapatibabu's birthday.
