Appealing set

Art director Bhaskara Raju has a major role to play in enhancing the look and overall appeal of K. Raghavendra Rao's Sri Ramadasu. Recently, he erected a `parnashala' set in Annapurna studio in Hyderabad for this Nagarjuna-starrer. As per the legend, Rama stayed in the parnashala along with Sita and Lakshmana in a dense forest location near River Kinnersani at the time of his vanavasa (living in forest during exile). It is also very near to the present Bhadrachalam temple. It is from here that Ravana took away Sita. Raju took every precaution to meet the standards of the legend and one has to agree that the effect was `natural' and impressive.
