Resolute daughter has her way

DEBUT: Saranya with Prithvi in `Parijatham.'

One schedule is over. And everyone is happy that the new find is doing a fine job as an actor. She is none other than Saranya, daughter of Bhagyaraj and Poornima. After finishing her Visual Communication in MOP Vaishnav College Saranya is all set to win hearts through "Parijatham," home production.

It is interesting how Saranya got the breakthrough. It was her brother her parents were grooming for launch when the girl wanted to know why she was not being considered. The surprised father was ready to oblige and screen test followed. The output was impressive and there she is, raring to go. Bhagyaraj is happy to introduce his daughter in his directorial venture. Prithviraj is the hero. "At home we are all fans of Bhagyaraj. The last film my father saw before his demise was one of the veteran director's. I was thrilled when I got the offer," he says. What does the mother think of the development? Poornima is yet to get over the surprise. "We thought my son would be first to enter the tinsel world. Anyway, when we learnt that Saranya was keen we didn't stand in her way. Now it is her turn to prove her mettle," she says. The film has Prakash Raj, Seetha, Roja and Thalaivasal Vijai.
