Quarrelsome twosome

Lingusamy is excited about his next release, `Sandakkozhi.' "You'll just love Meera Jasmine's pranks in the first half and hero Vishal's in the second. It's a film bubbling with the mischief of the main characters," a unit hand tells you. Vishal, successful hero of `Chellamae,' was so enamoured of the script of `Sandakkozhi' that he waited a year and a half for Lingusamy to begin the film. Needless to add, it is Vishal's home production. Raj Kiran's performance, you hear, will be another highpoint of the film.

On family ties

Kalki Bhagavan's Cosmic is making 'Kanna' with new face Sheela as the heroine. Sheela has worked in many films as a child. A family drama that will have Prakashraj and Seetha playing pivotal roles as husband and wife 'Kanna' is being written and directed by Anand. Anand who makes his debut with this film, has worked under makers Rajeshwar, Parthiban and Saba Kailash. Ranjit Barot, whose music in 'VIP' created waves some years ago, enters the scene after a while as composer of 'Kanna.'

After a gap

When you are told that Hamsavradhan will be seen sporting three different 'looks' in 'Mandhiran,' you are instantly reminded of 'Anniyan.' “Not so … the changes here will be because of the changes in his life,” the PRO hastens to add. Actor Ravichandran takes on the mantle of writer and director officially, for 'Mandhiran.' Son Hamsavradhan returns after a hiatus to don the hero's role. It's not that he did not get offers, only that they were not very enticing, you hear. So with dad's support, Hamsavradhan will play an action hero in this commercial venture.

Kill and thrill

'Azhagiya Aabaththu' ought to have been Lakshmi Rai's (the heroine of 'Karka Kasadara,') first release. The shooting for 'Azhagiya …' earlier named 'Kurukkezhuthu,' is now over and post- production work is going on. At a time when every maker these days plumbs action and romance, new director A. M. Bhaskar (an assistant of cinematographer B. Kannan) has opted for a murder mystery involving five young men and a woman.
