All new star cast

The lead pair of "Ilamai Idho Idho" ...

ALAIPAYUDHAE PICTURES' "E3 - Ilamai Idho Idho" seems to tread where not many filmgoers venture. Sai Rakesh, a popular television face, is one of the heroes of "E3 ... " In fact the film is teeming with new actors.

Vinodraj and Anup Kumar are the other two heroes. Madhumita of Parthiban's "Kudaikkul Mazhai" fame is the heroine.

Can introducing so many new actors, one of which is a known TV face, be a wise proposition?

"In today's scenario proper promos, publicity and catchy songs define the success or otherwise of a film.

If all these are appealing and the direction is good people are willing to watch new faces on screen," says a unit member.

Remember R. Selvaraj, the writer of many a yesteryear hit including "Annakkili?"

His son Dinesh Selvaraj makes his debut as director with "E3 ... " Dinesh trained under Mani Ratnam and that could tell you something about the young man's potential.

He joined the Ratnam bastion when the director began "Alaipayudhae," which explains the name of the banner. Also significant is the fact that Maniratnam, who generally does not attend film muhurats, made an exception in Dinesh's case and was present at the launch of "E 3 - Ilamai Idho Idho."
