Back after a gap

Madhumita and Jai Akash in "Amudhae" ...

REMEMBER "THULLADHA Manamum Thullum," the hit film directed by Ezhil? Later his films, "Pennin Manadhai Thottu," and "Poovellam Un Vaasam" which did average business, were followed by the Ajit-Jyotika film, "Raja," that bombed at the box office. Now after a long gap, Ezhil enters the fray with "Amudhae," with Jai Akash and Madhumita (the "Kudaikkul Mazhai" heroine) in the lead. Sivakumar handles the camera, while Sunil Xavier makes his debut as composer. Family sentiment and romance form the theme of "Amudhae."

Ezhil is known for his careful planning of schedules and working within the budget decided upon. Shooting never extends beyond the number of days he originally fixes. Also Ezhil's penchant for elaborate sets has been evident in nearly all his films.

Who can forget the beautiful twin houses in "Poovellam ... "? But in "Amudhae," Ezhil, you hear, has opted for less of sets and has gone in for more natural scenario.

The new producers, Aim Productions, in keeping with the norm stressed these days, have decided to have pure Tamil names for their films, beginning with "Amudhae." Then how come they have an English name for their production firm?
