Family entertainer

ANNA NAGAR Sakhi Mandal 3, Charitable Trust established and run by women is staging "Divorce Me Darling", an English play, on March 14, 6.45 p.m., at the Music Academy for their projects, which include welfare of downtrodden, under privileged children, physically challenged, old age homes, financial aid for medical and surgical emergencies, neonatal care and adoption of slums. Recently they have embarked on a project for mentally deranged women.

Film actress Rathi Agnihotri makes her debut on stage. Along with her are other well-known TV and theatre personalities, such as Vandana Sajnani, Rajesh Khattar, Vijoo Khote, Hilla Sethna, Farhan Khan, and Naved Aslam. It is directed by Janak Toprani, who also worked with Naseeruddin Shah and Sanjana Kapoor. This play is adapted from the Oscar winning film "Cactus Flower."

The play is about a bachelor dentist who has a sure-gimmick to keep himself single - he simply tells his many girlfriends that he is married and has three children. But it backfires when he falls in love with one particular woman (Vandana Sajnani) and asks her to marry him. He is forced to "produce" a wife to assuage the girlfriend's conscience and he turns to his nurse (Rati Agnihotri) and it is she who blossoms like a cactus flower the moment she steps out of her starched uniform. A complete family entertainer. For details ring up 26446570/28195088.
