2 killed in derailment

Guwahati July 22. Three coaches of a goods train derailed in Assam's North Cachar Hills district, killing two persons, railway sources said here today.

Two wagons and the guard van of the down train coming from Lumding to Badarpur with rice jumped the rails near Harangajho yesterday.

In another accident, 12 wagons of a goods train carrying iron ore derailed near Bodiyarpur, between Kirandul and Jagadalpur on the Visakhapatnam-Kirandul railway line in Waltair Division of the East Coast Railway, yesterday.

Official sources said today the iron ore movement on the line was disrupted.— PTI, UNI
