AERB team to visit U.S.

By Our Special Correspondent

MUMBAI July 14. Six Indian specialists will visit the United States in September to continue dialogue between the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) and the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission. They will visit the American nuclear power plants and safety research laboratories and have discussions on regulatory and safety-related topics.

DAE logo contest

The Department of Atomic Energy is holding a logo competition for its golden jubilee year celebrations commencing August next. The logo should depict different applications of the atomic energy such as electricity generation, healthcare, agriculture, food processing, water, environment, advanced technologies — such as accelerators and lasers — and national security, said a press note.

It should contain the phrase: Department of Atomic Energy — Golden Jubilee Year August 2003-August 2004 in English and Hindi. It should be legible in sizes ranging from stamp to A4 and will have to be submitted in electronic form and hard copy. The competition is open to all Indian citizens and the winner will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 10,000. The last date for the entry is July 31 next.
