Goods train derails

Siliguri July 6. A compartment of a goods train derailed between Altagram and Dhupguri stations in Jalpaiguri district today leading to the diversion of many trains, Railway sources said here.

The derailment occurred at 2.30 p.m. and all down trains from Guwahati were disrupted, sources said. The Delhi-bound North East Express, and the Kolkata-bound Teesta Torsha and the Kamrup Expresses were stopped at Altagram. Some other trains which had already left Guwahati were also stopped at various stations. — PTI
