Opposition leader's car attacked

Dumka (Jharkhand) June 18. The Leader of the Opposition in the Jharkhand Assembly, Stephen Marandi, today escaped unhurt when his car was attacked allegedly by CPI (ML) activists, near Shikapur village in Dumka district, police said. The driver of Mr. Marandi's car slowed down the vehicle as a procession was moving ahead. Suddenly about 100 persons surrounded the car and started hitting it, police said. However, Mr. Marandi escaped unhurt. The agitated workers then took a few people hostage but they were later freed.
