Imam, son killed

SRINAGAR JUNE 16. An imam and his son were allegedly killed by security forces mistaking them for militants in north Kashmir today. This sparked protests and thousands took to the streets demanding action against the security men. A magisterial inquiry has been ordered.

Abdul Qyoom Pir, imam of the local mosque in Daru Frastwari village in Baramulla district, and his 13-year-old son, Maqsood, were on their way back home after the late evening prayers, when the incident took place.
