This Day That Age
Madras city passed through another very hot day on the 9th with the mercury touching 107 degrees F at Nungambakkam.
From 10-30 a.m. to 3-15 p.m. the temperature rose from 100.4 to reach the maximum. Sea breeze set in at later. Dr. Sen, Meteorologist, said that as the South-West Monsoon was not advancing, dry wind currents prevailing over Tamizh Nadu caused the heat wave.
