BANGALORE June 6. The 14th hole proved decisive for Jaskirat Singh Dullet in the South India Junior and Sub-junior golf tournament. A brilliant second shot with a five iron, which missed giving him an albatross by less than a foot, helped Jaskirat surge into a two-stroke lead from Aditya Singh finally giving the Patiala golfer a victory by the same margin.

A fair crowd followed the progress of the leader group consisting of Jaskirat Singh Dullet, Aditya Singh and Ajeetesh Sandhu. Aditya began badly scoring a double bogey on the first hole but Jaskirat found the ninth a bugbear, ending up with a double bogey for the scores to be the same as at the start of the final round.

On the 12th hole both Aditya and Jaskirat had the same cumulative score setting up a tense finish. Ajeetesh by this time had lagged behind in the race for the title.

Jaskirat was simply brilliant on the 14th. After teeing off with a driver on the 525-yard par 5 hole, he struck the ball on his second shot with a five iron and the small group of spectators on the green broke into applause. The ball rolled past the hole and stopped less than nine inches away for Jaskirat to miss possibly only the second albatross at the BGC in recent times.

Jaskirat went on to easily score an eagle and Aditya missed a birdie again just by inches giving him only a par. The two-stroke lead on the 14th hole was just too much for Aditya to cover in the remaining four holes, especially with his wretched luck.

For Aditya, it was a case of dame fortune deserting him. Throwing caution to the winds thrice this Delhi youngster went flat out for birdies only to miss by inches. On the 15th Aditya's tee shot landed next to a boulder in wet underfoot conditions. A free drop saw him come out of trouble well but the birdie putt lipped out. It was a familiar sight to see him throwing his hands on his head in despair as the ball rolled unkindly for him.

Jaskirat, meanwhile, kept his cool and with a series of pars to close out the match, winning by two strokes. Twice runner-up in the first two IGU Juniors matches this season, Jaskirat finally broke the jinx to carve out a thrilling win.

Ajeetesh who finished third in the `A' section, however, had the satisfaction of taking the `B' group title by a huge margin. A four over par 74 on the final day saw Ajeetesh win by 19 strokes from Jaipur's Amanjyot Singh.

Rahul Bakshi once again played to 77 to claim the `C' section title streaking away to a 15-stroke win from Madhav Soi.

Rommel Majumdar from Fort William, Kolkata played to one over his handicap and was streets ahead of Viraat Badhawar. The winning margin was 21 strokes as Rommel blazed away to victory.
