Medha Patkar ends fast

NASHIK JUNE 6. The Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA) leader, Medha Patkar, today ended her hunger strike after receiving a faxed assurance from the Maharashtra Government that the tribals affected by the Sardar Sarovar project would be rehabilitated.

She broke her fast consuming coconut water offered by an NBA activist at 12.30 p.m.
