Letters to the Editor
Sir, The news item, "RSS activist plays father to Muslim girl" ( ( May 26 ) , was indeed heartening. The Swayamsevak, Banambar Sahoo of Jamdhar village, Orissa, has taught a lesson to the religious chauvinists that one's strong faith and religious conviction need not be a hindrance to revealing his humanitarian consideration and love for fellow beings. His concern for the orphaned little Muslim girl Musuruddin whom he brought up and conducted her marriage is a wonderful model worthy of emulation. This news will gladden the soul of the Father of the Nation. May Mr. Sahoo's tribe increase.
R. Daniel Jayakumar,
