Shinde wins

MUMBAI May 24. The Maharashtra Chief Minister, Sushilkumar Shinde, has won the South Solapur Assembly seat by a record margin of 79,433 votes. The victory fulfils the statutory requirement for Mr. Shinde to be a member of either House of the bicameral State Legislature in six months after becoming the Chief Minister. While Mr. Shinde secured 85,329 votes, Sanjeev Sadatule of the Bahujan Samaj Party polled 6,696 votes.
