Nalco net up

BHUBANESWAR MAY 8. The National Aluminium Company (NALCO), country's leading producer and exporter of alumina and aluminium, has posted a net profit of Rs. 522.07 crores for the year ended March 31, 2003 against Rs. 409.35 crores, a growth of 27.5 per cent.

The company registered a record turnover of Rs. 2,734.32 crores, which was 14.7 per cent higher than the corresponding figure of last fiscal.

Its export earning touched a new high of Rs. 1,515 crores on account of substantial increase in the export of alumina from its expanded alumina refinery.
