ISLAMABAD APRIL 12. A pilot was killed and another injured as two Pakistan Air Force planes crashed today while on separate missions.

The Defence Ministry said "a fighter aircraft and a Mushak trainer aircraft crashed during routine training missions''.

The first plane, a Chinese-made A-5 fighter, crashed near Pindi Gheb town, some 100 km southwest of the capital Islamabad. The pilot ejected safely. But the pilot of a locally made Mushak trainer aircraft died when his plane crashed near Tangi town in North West Frontier Province. The co-pilot was injured.
