The Defence Ministry said "a fighter aircraft and a Mushak trainer aircraft crashed during routine training missions''. The first plane, a Chinese-made A-5 fighter, crashed near Pindi Gheb town, some 100 km southwest of the capital Islamabad. The pilot ejected safely.
