According to a spokesman of the Traders' Action Committee for VAT, Praveen Khandelwal, all wholesale and retail markets in Delhi would remain closed, supporting the nationwide strike. ``All major traders' organisations in the Capital, including those of the Walled City, New Delhi, Karol Bagh, South Delhi and Trans-Yamuna areas, are supporting the strike, ,'' he said here today. Mr. Khandelwal claimed that the call for the two-day strike had evoked overwhelming support from the trading community across the country including States like Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and West Bengal.
