A special Cabinet committee meeting should be convened tomorrow ``headed by Samy Vellu, Minister for Works, to repair Malaysia-India relations which had plunged to an all-time low after the Palm Court police mistreatment of Indian IT professionals on March 9,'' Leader of the Democratic Action Party, Lim Kit Siang said yesterday. Commenting on the last minute pull-out of the Indian hockey team from the Azlan Shah Cup hockey tournament to be held in Ipoh, Malaysia, Mr. Saing said this reflected the damage to Malaysia-India bilateral relations caused by the incident ``which had been aggravated by the unsatisfactory and insensitive responses from the Malaysian authorities.'' ``The step is to ensure the safety of our citizens travelling to Malaysia,'' said Veena Sikri, Indian High Commissioner in Kuala Lumpur. ``Besides IT professionals, we also had some Indian tourists, visiting their relatives residing in Palm Court apartment," she said.
