Bofors case: SC defers hearing on CBI's plea

By Our Legal Correspondent

NEW DELHI March 11. The Supreme Court today adjourned to April further hearing on the CBI's petition challenging the judgment of the Delhi High Court quashing the framing of charges in the Bofors case against the three Hinduja brothers.

When the matter came up today before a five-member Constitution Bench headed by the Chief Justice, V.N. Khare, it said the matter would be heard by a three-member bench headed by Justice S. Rajendra Babu on April 7, when the date would be fixed for final hearing. Appearing for the Hindujas, Ram Jethmalani, requested the bench to direct the Delhi High Court to expeditiously dispose of two petitions challenging framing of charges against his clients.
