Hold civic polls in Pondy: JD(S)

Pondicherry Feb. 12. The Pondicherry State Janata Dal (S) has urged the authorities to hold civic polls without any further delay.

E. Ganesan, president, said the executive meeting held here on Monday adopted a resolution in this regard. It wanted steps to curb mosquito menace to prevent diseases. The recommendations of a tribunal constituted by the Administration for revision of wages of AFT mill workers should be implemented without delay.

The party objected to the disinvestments spree of the Central Government and said it would soon launch agitations against the decision.
