The arrested naxals, Kilo Sukhadev, 22, Sanderi Chinaranga Rao alias Sarat, 28, Vantala Kittu alias Nageswara Rao, 27, Vantala Kameswara Rao, 21, and Gammela Sundara Rao, have been actively associated with the People's War indulging in violence, according to the police. Five 12-bore rifles, five landmines, one soapbox bomb and one television set were seized from them. Apart from his involvement in the blasting of the Anakapalle police station, Sukhadev was connected with the Korapalli landmine blast and involved in the destruction of R.V. Nagar telephone exchange, blasting of the Coffee Board's research centre and attack on Koyyuru police station last December, the police said. He was also in the naxal group which attempted to blast the Maredumilli police station, organised a bomb attack on the police party at Kotha Vedurupalli and indulged in blasting of the Koyyuru MRO office, along with the other four arrested. The other four naxalites were also involved in the blasting of the MLA's residence while Ranga Rao and Nageswara Rao were responsible for the murder of the home guard, Vantala Subba Rao, the police said.
